'A smile a day keeps the devil away', or so they say.
Smiling really is both effortless and rewarding. Being kind, polite, courteous and generous to people, even if you look like the devil is not a bad thing. It will improve peoples perception on both yourself and on people like you (us different people).
Be happy and smile, why not? Try it, you will see.
I am always known at work to be the happy one. I am great with angry customers because my managers have said I have a calming influence and always smile. I am forever whistling and I think I am a genuinely happy person.
The stereotype of the darkly inclined is one of depression, gloom and mopeyness. That's not really good. Just because you look like that does not mean you are like that. It is a look, a style and an aesthetic.
Wear the clothes, don't be the clothes! Be yourself!
